Texo DSI Ltd Complete LiDAR Safety Case Trial
Texo DSI Ltd have successfully implemented a LiDAR based anti-collision system within its OGI UAV fleet to ensure and maintain client asset integrity and safety during precise Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) Inspection & Survey.
James Arnott BSc, Texo DSI Ltd Technical Operations Manager said:
“This system allows our pilots operating near our client assets during delicate and precise Optical Gas Imaging surveys, to have immediate confirmation of intrusion into a predetermined ‘no fly zone’ with cm level accuracy. By using multiple sensors around the UAV, our pilots receive instantaneous 360 degree confirmation of maximised safe distance within the immediate area surrounding the UAV. The system emits a series of verbal warning notifications at set distances to notify the pilot via the ground control station, ensuring swift and appropriate action can be taken. This ensures that continuous situational awareness is maintained during difficult and close proximity aerial operations and that our client' asset integrity is assured.”
With successful field trials completed, Texo DSI Ltd now plan to implement this system throughout its extensive fleet of multi – rotor RPAS forthwith, so as to ensure and confirm our ethos of continuous development, not just to increased efficiency data acquisition but to safety, throughout our extensive range of aerial services and associated applications.
